Wedding Wednesday: Colorful Shoot in Glasgow

Summer is pretty much behind us over here in Scotland, but for old times sake, I thought I'd share a few of the photos from a colorful shoot, which I was a part of way back in March.

To see more lovely photos {and the most adorable flower girls ever!} head on over to

weekend woes

i ate a lot of soup this weekend. sadly, none of which was this pretty.
to see more beautiful food photography visit What Katie Ate
this weekend, instead of being out enjoying the sun, i was buried under a pile of blankets coughing and hacking my way through season six of How I Met Your Mother {sooo funny, btw!}
i had {self-diagnosed via Web Md} bronchitis and when i'm sick, i'm such a baby!
enter my darling husband.
he spent the weekend going on orange juice runs {i don't think the oj actually helps my cold, but it just makes me feel so much better!} and picking up videos at Blockbuster. one really good movie we watched, which I was pretty skeptical of at first, was Salmon Fishing in the Yemen with Emily Blunt and Ewan McGregor.  it was so sweet and just a really fun movie. both husband and i agreed it's a keeper.
we also watched The Woman in Black, which was not a keeper and even had my tough, British husband watching from between his fingers!
{hah! he'll be so mad i told you all that!}

What'd you guys get up to this weekend?

what we've been up to lately...

Josie Shenoy Illustration
While the Olympics have garnered all the attention down in London, we've been celebrating up in Scotland for a different reason: The Fringe Festival

It's a mammoth festival that takes over the city every year and we've been soaking up as much of it as we can! From food stalls to comedians to bands I've never heard of {and some I hope to never hear again!}, there's something for everyone!

On Sunday we visited the huge food festival at the park next to our flat {along with about a million other foodies!} and it was so yummy! We did a few laps just trying out the samples from each stall, and then back we went to buy our favorites. We ended up with some fancy cheese + crackers, homemade pistachio meringues, and fresh, AMERICAN lemonade!

If you're ever planning a trip to Scotland, try for the month of August, so you can experience the Fringe firsthand!

I'll leave you with a picture of my husband chowing down on a Buffalo Burger!:)

Yeah, they were that good!

What has been keeping you busy this summer?

inspiration to reality

Stripey Top // Handbag // Skirt {similar here} // Watch // Sandals

From that to this:

Tarah Coonan Photography

remember back when I'd never worn a maxi anything before? well those days are over--I'm officially a maxi convert! and what was it that changed my mind?

this skirt
{which is actually sold out, but you can find the winter version here}

I loved the color + I already knew the perfect way to style it {hats off to j,crew for that one!}

so, on a bright, sunny London afternoon, I headed off in my kelly green, maxi {handsome husband in tow} to meet up with the lovely, Tarah Coonan who was going to snap a few shots of us for our Anniversay

I've always loved the idea of documenting each married year and I can't wait to get these out for the grandchildren one day and show them how funny their Mimi was, way back when, in
her maxi skirt + stripey top

this time last year

the most comfortable bed of my life
where we ate breakfast most mornings
my husband's favorite place: the breakfast bar
our table on the water.  we still talk about the ceviche starter
my honeymoon present from my lovely husband: a day at the spa
neither of us are big beach people, but we can definitely get on board with an infinity pool. especially one where they bring you Evian facial sprays and frozen truffles.

as lovely as our first anniversary was, I can't help daydreaming about where we were this time last year....

and where we were last year was very nice, indeed

if you're looking for a honeymoon destination cabo should definitely be on your list and Capella Pedregal should be at the very top

you might have to sell a kidney to afford it, but you won't even miss it when you're chowing down on your complimentary guac + chips at five every afternoon or soaking in the plunge pool off your balcony

this is that place i daydream about when it's august and i'm still wearing socks to bed

::side eye Scotland::

where do you dream of being whisked away to?
